Stratos is the desktop app that tracks your flights for your virtual airline. This page gets it installed and open; from there you pick your airline and fly.

What you need

Microsoft Flight Simulator, Prepar3D and FSX run on Windows only. On a Mac or Linux computer, fly X-Plane on the same computer, or run Stratos alongside a Windows simulator PC on your home network (see Remote simulator setup).

Download and install

Download Stratos from skyvexsoftware.com/download. Pick your system on the page, and on a Mac choose Apple Silicon or Intel.
Run the downloaded .exe. Stratos installs straight away, without any questions, adds a desktop shortcut and opens.

The first time you open it

  1. Stratos checks for updates and downloads the rest of the app. This takes a moment the first time.
  2. The Virtual Airlines page opens. Find your airline, or enter the invite code your airline gave you. See Choosing an airline.
  3. Sign in with your airline account, and accept the Stratos licence when it’s shown. See Signing in.
  4. Stratos installs your airline’s plugins and opens the first one.
Stratos finds a running simulator by itself. The top bar shows Connected to and the simulator’s name once it has found it. See Connecting your simulator if it doesn’t. From then on Stratos updates itself. When an update is ready while it’s open, an Update available button appears in the top bar. It’s hidden during a flight. See Updating Stratos.
