Download

Download the latest version of Stratos from skyvexsoftware.com/download. Available for Windows, macOS (Intel & Apple Silicon), and Linux. After installing, launch Stratos. The app will automatically check for updates on startup.

Connecting to Your Virtual Airline

  1. Select your airline — on first launch, you’ll see a list of available virtual airlines. Click the one you’d like to connect to. If your airline isn’t listed, ask your VA administrator to set up Stratos integration. You can also use an invite code if your airline has provided one.
  2. Authenticate with your VA — depending on your airline’s setup, you’ll either login via OAuth or enter your VA credentials (username and password).
Once connected, Stratos loads your airline’s plugins — including dashboards, flight tracking, and any custom tools your airline provides.

Connecting Your Simulator

Stratos automatically detects running simulators. Supported simulators:
  • Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020/2024 — detected automatically via SimConnect
  • X-Plane 11/12 — works out of the box with default settings. If you’ve changed the UDP port X-Plane sends data on, update it in Settings → Custom IP/Port
  • FSX / Prepar3D — detected via SimConnect
The connection status is shown in the top bar. A green dot means you’re connected and receiving data.

Tracking a Flight

  1. Navigate to the Flight Tracking plugin in the sidebar
  2. Select a booked flight from the list
  3. Click Start Tracking — Stratos begins recording your flight data
  4. Fly your route — the live map shows your position, and the flight log records events automatically
  5. When you land and arrive at the gate, click Submit to file your flight report. If Auto-Submit is enabled in Settings, your flight will be submitted automatically once you’re parked at the destination gate with engines off

Settings

Click the gear icon in the sidebar to access settings:
  • Tracking Provider — choose SimConnect (MSFS) or X-Plane
  • Theme — switch between Light, Dark, or System
  • Units — configure weight, altitude, and distance display units
  • SimBrief — enter your SimBrief username for flight plan integration
  • Auto-Start Tracking — automatically start tracking when your aircraft is at a booked departure airport
  • Auto-Submit Flight — automatically submit your flight when parked at the destination gate with engines off
  • Custom IP/Port — override connection settings if your simulator is on a different machine

Auto-Updates

Stratos checks for updates automatically. When a new version is available, you’ll see a prompt to download and install it. You can also manually check in Settings → Check for Updates.
